Can one speak in the tongue of dreams? Can one convey their music, and like a torch-bearer, guide it back into our waking world?
Such questions lie at the source of the Never~Ending Orchestra, and therefore the band tries to answer them through its narrative world/electro/orchestral music, blending all five continents in a new imaginary language, borne by the fervor of classical strings, and given rhythm by percussions belonging to this world, or the next.
Drawing on these alchemies, the band tells audiences about the surreal landscapes where dream-spirits, fallen gods and mythical trees contemplate one another…
Aurélien Barry
Cofounder of the band and composer, ‘Aurel’ is also its singer and guitarist. His vocal style, which has occasionally been defined as ‘folkloristic’, ‘mystical’ or ‘tribal’, takes its main influence from bands also difficult to pigeonhole such as Dead can Dance, Arcana or Vas, as well as Celtic and medieval music, and traditional chants from all over the world. He’s a known insomniac, although often criticized for a lack of efforts towards a more conventional lifestyle.

Matthieu Lecomte
Violinist, cofounder and composer, Matthieu Lecomte has had to play the difficult role of one-man orchestra during the early days of the band. Mainly inspired by Gypsy jazz and contemporary classical music, Matthieu sometimes ventures into Arabian melodies as well as Celtic vibes which, although allegedly involuntary, are a crucial ingredient of the Never~Ending feel and mood. Equally artist and scientist, Matthieu is a researcher best described as meticulously loose and chaotically precise.
Sébastien Rateau
After an impeccable journey throughout music colleges, Sebastien is a decisively brilliant cellist who performed in a number of classical and baroque orchestras as well as modern projects. His mastery is hugely appreciated within the Never~Ending Orchestra, where the cello instrument is such a vital foundation. Legend says Seb’s mere glance can ignite a sheet of music when he’s sufficiently infuriated.
Pedro Javier González Bermúdez
Percussionist, multi-instrumentalist and audio engineer, Pedro has revealed himself as the miracle solution to a number a dilemmas regarding the rhythm section of the band, assuredly a critical aspect. How can every single song get a unique rhythmical arrangement on a live stage? How can electronic sounds be integrated without mechanizing the entire movement? Pedro’s performance on his electro-percussion was an obvious answer. Originally from Ibiza, Pedro recently moved to France where he works on various live projects and recordings. Aside from percussions, the Never~Ending Orchestra owes Pedro the recording of all songs audible on this website, and encounters with curious creatures of the animal kingdom.
